Why Homework Stinks

(Disclaimer: this post was written by my 3rd grade son, John. He felt that he had to say something on his mom's website about homework!)

If I had a website, I would call it "Why Homework Stinks!" I'll tell you why. Homework wastes your energy. My friend plays around and never does his homework. Like today we had to write Action Verbs. I capitalize Action Verbs because they are major and important. But not to my friend! He thinks they waste energy, too! Guess what? My mom said if she was a kid she would not want to do homework. She thinks it stinks, too! That's three people so far that hate homework. If I didn't have homework I would play more soccer and watch TV. My mom would read and play with her friends.

I think homework in 1st grade was easy, but in 3rd grade we have to do like 6 things in a week. That is a waste of energy! I mean, we are really smart and the teacher is teaching us stuff like 6 X 6, 8 X 8, 2 X 14.
